The goal of this workshop is to empower participants to be passionate about changing the world to advance towards equality, by encouraging diverse perspectives on law, the development of law and how to use law to effect change.

Senator kim pate

Kim Pate was appointed to the Senate of Canada on November 10, 2016. First and foremost, the mother of Michael and Madison, she is also a nationally renowned advocate who has spent the last 35 years working in and around the legal and penal systems of Canada, with and on behalf of some of the most marginalized, victimized, criminalized and institutionalized — particularly imprisoned youth, men and women.

Pam MacEachern

Called to the Ontario bar in 1994, MacEachern strongly identifies as a feminist. She practices in the area of litigation, primarily in the area of family law. She has been involved in a number of leading cases around lesbian and gay constitutional equality cases, human rights cases regarding hate on the internet, personal injury files regarding damages in sexual violence cases, and now advocating on behalf of women in prison.
