University of Ottawa

uOttawa’s second photoshoot

My experience with the photo campaign was both inspirational and enlightening. We found participants by reaching out to friends, classmates and professors, as well as posting on Facebook. I was able to meet many people with diverse goals and interests. Talking to participants and reading the captions they wrote for their photos opened my eyes to certain topics I had little knowledge of. I was also able to connect with people who had similar interests to mine. The shoot, overall, went very smoothly. I’m looking forward to helping with the Winter term photo campaign!

As a 1L student, there is an overwhelming number of opportunities to get involved on campus. I was lucky to find a group that promoted many of the valued and interests that are important to me. The photo campaign, in particular, was a great way for me to help promote intersectional feminism at uOttawa. The campaign is an open, safe and accessible place to make important statements on our laws and legal systems. As both an organizer and a participant, I feel I benefited a great deal from the photo campaign and encourage others to get involved in the future. - Hannah Ruby, 1L

This photo campaign was run by LNFB uOttawa chapter executive members, with the help of volunteers and general members and led by Uttra Gautam.
